The Share with Us Survey closed 11 December 2024.
The Royal Commission was asked to examine the domestic, family and sexual violence systems in South Australia, including understanding how those systems work currently, and what may need to change.
Share With Us invited you to answer questions about the domestic, family and sexual violence systems in South Australia. The survey asked a series of questions and allowed you to provide any other information you wanted to share by leaving an audio or written message.
It sought the views of people:
- with lived experience of domestic, family and/or sexual violence
- supporting someone experiencing domestic, family and/or sexual violence.
Participation was voluntary and anonymous. We did not collect any information that identified individuals.
Anyone who submitted to the survey was asked to consider the Commission's Share with Us, Practice Guideline (PDF, 302.9 KB).

Commonly asked questions
Share With Us is one of the important ways that we are hearing from South Australians. It is a tool that enables as many people as possible to share their experiences with us, either via the survey or through an audio message.
We also want South Australians to feel safe and supported in this process. If you are affected by any of the questions, please reach out to a trusted person or contact a service for support.
You can find a list of support services on our website.
The information provided in the survey will be used to guide the Commission's inquiry and its recommendations.
The Commission is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals. Share With Us is completely anonymous.
You are not asked for your name or contact details - and Share With Us does not collect any identifying information. We only ask for a postcode, and even this is optional.
No names are captured, and we are not collecting any information that makes you identifiable as an individual.
Please do not share any personal information that identifies you or others.
The option to leave an audio message is available at the end of the survey. You have the option of skipping questions to get to the survey.
You will simply need to press record on the 'record audio' button, record your message and it will automatically upload. If you make a mistake, you can record your message again.
The audio file will be securely saved with your survey and remains anonymous.
All responses are being stored securely.
The survey does not collect identifying or personal information, but may collect anonymised and aggregated metadata that does not identify individuals.
All of the responses will help the Commission develop a deeper understanding of the domestic, family and sexual violence systems in South Australia, and what gaps exist.
