The Commission has entered our listening phase.

Having completed our first month of the Royal Commission into Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence, I am pleased to provide a brief overview of activities and engagements currently underway and planned for coming weeks.

The Commission has entered our listening phase. We have been meeting with agencies and organisations in metropolitan Adelaide, and will undertake our first regional visits in August and September.

Our listening phase is designed to ensure we listen to as many organisations and people as possible. It also includes the release of our online Share With Us tool, which will provide another way to share advice and information with the Commission.  More information about this will be made available in the coming weeks.

Every piece of information we receive during our listening phase will help build the bigger picture of what we need to focus our inquiries on.

Already the Commission has met with representatives from the domestic, family and sexual violence sector, including Embolden, KWY Aboriginal Corporation, Nunga Mi:Minar, Family Violence Legal Service Aboriginal Corporation in addition to the Public Advocate and the Victims of Crime Commissioner.  The Commission will continue to meet with and hear from agencies and organisations in metropolitan Adelaide in August and will undertake our first regional visit to Port Pirie and Port Augusta towards the end of August.

Thank you to every person who has contacted the Commission so far. We are pleased to have received submissions in response to our Issues Paper and look forward to receiving many more. Read our Issues Paper for more details.

Please continue to visit our website for upcoming key dates.

Again, thank you and I look forward to providing a further update soon.
