Last week the Royal Commission began accepting written submissions.
I want to hear from anyone with advice, suggestions, or ideas about how the domestic, family and sexual violence systems in South Australia can better meet the needs of those who interact with those systems.
On Monday 1 July, the Commission released an Issues Paper (PDF, 895.2 KB), which outlines key themes and areas of interest for our inquiry, and a Background Paper. (PDF, 3.1 MB) I urge you to read both papers and consider sharing your views by making a written submission.
I acknowledge that, for many people, making a written submission will not be the preferred way of sharing with the Commission. This is why the Commission will launch an online Share With Us tool in September 2024. Share With Us will invite responses to questions about the domestic, family and sexual violence systems in South Australia and will also invite users to provide any other information they want to share by leaving an audio or written message.
Over coming weeks and months, the Commission will provide more details about Share with Us and the other ways I will be listening to the sector and the community, including metropolitan and regional visits.
I want to thank everyone for the level of support and goodwill you have shown to date. I look forward to further strong engagement and collaboration over the coming year.
